I think Helena is one of the most haunted places in Montana, on the level of Butte, Little Bighorn, Bannack, and Virginia City. Some of it may have to do with the geology.
Keeping a distinction between whether a human being is haunted or a place is haunted can be tough.
You know what I do sometimes? I sometimes remember that a human being is a kind of "place" as well. We are loci, 3D forms, but living and moving. Houses can be haunted, mountains and lakes can be haunted, a piece of furniture can be haunted, ...and a person can be haunted (and I don't mean "just in the head" although that is also a consideration).
I am getting further and further from being enchanted with technology in paranormal investigations. Tech can supplement, confirm, etc. but one's investigations should not be directed by technology, what one has or one does not have. It is possible to do good solid investigations -without a single piece of equipment or advanced technology. And it is possible to do lousy investigations even if you have all the high tech stuff one could wish for.
It is the mind, the hand, the investigative process that are the important elements, not the tech.
